When graduating from law school, lawyers are well trained in identifying and preserving rights and remedies. Business leaders, however, focus on creating new value through business strategy and tactical implementation. Consequently, the development, structuring and governance of non-hierarchical, collaborative business relationships is a key skill in todays networked world.
An effective legal approach to preserving and enhancing collaborative relationships demands on a keen understanding of the legal, financial and business frameworks for solid business relationships. We regularly assist clients in developing relationship structures for effective communication, amicable resolution of business disputes and, where feasible, renegotiation to reconnect loose ends and unlock hidden value.
For litigation, we advise clients on strategy but do not benefit from their disputes. We prefer to recommend others as in-the-court litigators while we try to salvage value in failed relationships develop rehabilitative strategy and help avoid delays, uncertainty and costs of litigation where possible.
Some attorneys have served as expert witness, arbitrator or mediator in technology or service disputes.
